Castle Hospitality division are recruiting for an experienced Catering Supervisor for our unique client situated between York and Harrogate area, North Yorkshire.  Set in acres of manicured country park in the Vale of York, this is a beautiful location to work with a repetitive employer, offering personal training and may benefits.

The Catering team as a whole is responsible for maintaining high standards throughout the business.  The role of the Catering Supervisor is to support the Catering Manager in the operation of the catering department, assisting the Catering Manager in operating an effective, and efficient catering service. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Catering Manager in the overall running of the catering department, on a daily basis to the highest possible standards, covering all aspects of the catering department including all satellite units
  • Assist and support the Catering Manager in ensuring a high-quality food service is always offered
  • Assist in the development and improvement of the catering service by offering constructive comments and suggestion
  • To be proactive in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the catering department always.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Catering Manager
  • To inform the Catering Manager of any important activities on site of relevance of the catering department
  • To ensure the security of the catering facilities whilst on duty
  • To lead by example with regards to timekeeping, presentation, hard work, attitude, motivation and commitment
  • To ensure all meal services are set up on time, are well presented and an excellent service is provided
  • In conjunction with the other Catering Supervisors be responsible for weekend cover and ensure required standards are maintained
  • Be an active first aider within the department
  • Promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues and staff
  • Promote a positive company image to customers and guests, employing excellent customer service always
  • Deal with customer complaints and inform the Catering Manager
  • Complete any training plans or courses as and when required
  • Monitor staff performance, ensuring all staff are working to their full potential
  • Ensure the department follows all Health & Safety, Food Safety & COSHH guidelines
  • Be actively involved in the planning and running of catering events for both internal and external clients
  • Monitor staff breaks, reporting any concerns to the Catering Manager
  • Ensure all maintenance issues are reported promptly and followed up
  • Attend any meetings as required
  • Carry out any other duties required by the Catering Manager
