Leading Digital design agency with high profile international client base - including motor manufacturers and UK government clients (part of larger UK Plc), requires an experienced Linux Sys Admin with Web Hosting Skills due to steady expansion.
Key skills:
Solid proven Linux Infrastructure background
Scripting with Bash, Python or PHP or similar
Linux System Administration - Debian OR CentOS preferred
Strong Apache configuration skills
Creation and maintenance of new and existing IT infrastructures
Some database and web server’s maintenance including backup / restore and troubleshooting with MySQL
Experience of working on Web Applications such as Nginx or similar
Nice to haves:
Cloud Services, AWS
Automation (Dev Ops) techniques using Ansible, Jenkins/ Bamboo and / or other tooling
Monitoring and logging solutions – NewRelic or Nagios
The Role:
To join an established managed services team to proactively keep the business operational and client's web applications online. Day to day duties include responding to monitoring alerts and ensuring SLAs are met, executing planned operations and preventive maintenance activities and working closely with the client to keep the systems up and running 24/7. Key skills required will include experience in Apache, MySQL and Scripting and will move towards increasing automation (Dev Ops) activity.
Responsibilities include:
Working on a range of small to enterprise level builds.
Promptly and adequately responds in case of emergency situations, including client communication.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of new and existing IT infrastructures, including automation where sensible.
Participate in all aspects of the project’s implementation including deployments, monitoring, alerts, escalation process.
Proactively identifying, communicating and addressing technical risks throughout the delivery process.
System Administration as part of 24x7 on-call duties (some on call rota work expected).
