Established Plc High tech manufacturer with large internal IT systems team requires a new functional software tester specialising in testing applications for the Microsoft Windows environment. You will have a commitment to quality and will relish finding defects in software. Experience of working in an Agile development environment, working collaboratively with other team members including developers and systems analysts is a must as is a strong track record in delivering to deadlines, with attention to detail and a willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced environment!
The Role:
Working alongside a team of developers at all levels to work on Greenfield redevelopment of the next generation of applications for the business in an agile environment - collaborating daily with colleagues to think innovatively and challenge convention and to enjoy being part of a team of like-minded individuals to:
Produce test documentation (test plans and test scripts) to agreed standards.
Perform quality testing (sprint/exploratory/regression/user interface/smoke) on projects and issues to agreed processes and timescales.
Report on defects and manage them through to successful resolution via Visual Studio Team Services.
Collaborate with other team members and business stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and acceptance of completed work.
Reporting test progress to the Development Manager, communicating effectively and escalating where appropriate.
Required skills and experience:
At least 2 years commercial manual software testing experience.
Experience of preparing test documentation including test plans, test scripts, defect reports and progress updates.
Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Experience of executing test scripts.
Experience in testing in an agile methodology.
Defect management including providing accurate reproduction steps.
Estimation of test cases and plans.
Understanding of MS SQL Server.
Desirable:
Experience of Microsoft Test Manager
Experience of Visual Studio Team Services
Any experience of working with automated testing tools - though will train as there will be opportunities to progress to automated testing as they move forward with our development plan.
