Engineering Director for engineering technology company undergoing massive growth

The Role

As Engineering Director you will be responsible for leading and developing the engineering resource and team of up to 100+ individuals, focused on the development of new engine technology for future world demand. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this broad based and demanding role includes:

  • implementing the engineering structure, model, scale and management structure
  • optimising the resource in line with growth plans, including in-house and outsourced demand
  • recruitment, training, development and monitoring of team skills and performance
  • implementing metrics to measure engineering performance, results, Lean practices etc.
  • ensuring optimum commercial leadership of engineering cost centre
  • building relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, investors and stakeholders

The Person

You will be a Chartered Engineer (degree level or equivalent), with career experience managing senior teams and engineering resources. With experience in CI, Lean and Best Practice engineering processes, a background in the Automotive, Aerospace or Nuclear sector is desirable including:

  • a reputation for delivery of high grade engineering outputs, to time, quality and budget
  • significant operational / manufacturing / engineering management sector exposure
  • exposure to fast-growth, fast change environments
  • excellent communication skills and ability to recruit, motivate and develop talent
