The Role
As Category Manager for Logistics & Freight, you will be responsible for purchasing / procurement support across various Logistics & Freight related projects. Responsibilities include:
- supporting scoping of supplier opportunities to ensure best service / cost
- developing and delivering category strategies and managing contracts delivery
- commercial / contractual input on RFPs, RFQs and RFIs
- working with global procurement team on supplier selection
- reviewing & negotiating commercial contract terms and conditions
- developing relationships with internal customers / stakeholders
- identifying / delivering savings / cost / rebate opportunities

The Person
As Category Manager for Logistics & Freight, you will have previous procurement / purchasing / category management experience working in multi-functional teams. Ideally CIPS ( or equivalent ) qualified you will need:
- strong negotiation / contract drafting skills
- excellent communication / IT skills
- good knowledge of SAP or equivalent MRP system
- excellent time management / organisational skills
- supplier relationship management skills
