General Manager / Managing Director           Bristol              to £60,000 + benefits

Are you a hands-on General Manager with proven experience of operational excellence?

The Role

As General Manager, you will manage the office, administration, HR, operations and warehousing team to maximum efficiency. You will take full control of day-to-day issues, managing operations to allow the sales, marketing and NPD functions to focus on their areas of expertise. Responsibilities include:

• Leadership: Motivating and inspiring the team, developing new systems and processes and celebrating successes
• Operations: Chairing weekly operations meeting, warehouse walks, continuous improvement, streamlining overheads, resolving daily issues
• HR: Develop reporting structures, role expectations, job descriptions etc., recruitment, training and development, conflict resolution etc.
• Finance: monthly accounts and budget management, cash flow, debtors, creditors, costs and opportunities etc.

The Company

Our client designs, imports and distributes a wide range of toys, gifts, games, presents, souvenirs etc. for high street, online, visitor attractions and general retailers in the UK and Europe. You will be joining a friendly close knit team (including the business owners) where your ideas, contribution, work effort and continuous improvement initiatives will be valued and respected.

Your general business and operational skills will include people management and development, managing performance, organising, communicating, inspiring others and delivering results.
