Plant Fitter                   Wembley                     £50k to £60k + benefits

Mobile fitter / yard fitter for plant hire company based in Wembley

The Role

As Plant Fitter you will be responsible for maintenance and repair (including fitting & welding) of mobile & fixed plant and equipment both on sites and at the company depot. Responsibilities include:

• maintenance, fitting & repair of hydraulic excavators, dumpers, bulldozers etc.
• use of cutting, grinding, welding equipment as required
• pre-delivery inspections, documentation of returns, works carried out, parts used etc.
• liaising, scheduling, working with outside contract fitting staff
• procurement of mechanical parts, supplies & services from suppliers

Our client is a national blue chip company and one of the biggest suppliers of operated & self-drive plant hire in the UK.

The Person

As Plant Fitter you will have previous experience in a similar role including fault-finding, maintenance & repair of heavy duty construction plant equipment.  You will also have:

• experience of working with minimum supervision on 3rd party sites
• ability to understand and interpret mechanical / engineering drawings
• knowledge of HSE practice & legislation in on-site construction situations
• ability to work independently and as part of a team and record activities
