VMWare Consultant – South Wales – 3 month contract (+ possible extension)

I am looking a VMware Consultant with extensive VMWare experience to work for a prestigious organisation based in South Wales. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years VMWare experience and be competent with SQL Server to DBA level, candidates will also need security clearance for this particular assignment.

You will be responsible for:
• Re-building several virtual machines to an agreed specification
• Introduction of a new maintenance schedule
• Providing training to administrator level to developers
• Upgrade servers from VMware 3.5 to 4.0
• Optimise server to best use available resources
• SQL admin tasks will be needed to automate several SSIS packages in relation to server performance and security.

In addition, as part of the context of this work, you will contribute to moving applications to a new production environment. Some knowledge of C#, .Net and IIS is also desirable.

The role is based in South Wales and will initially start as 3-month contract with a possible extension.

You will be expected to start week commencing 27th September. Interviews will be held over the next two weeks.
