Department overview:
The Settlements Technology team sit within the Corporate Technology Services division of Nomura and are responsible for providing Settlement IT services to a global user base. A team in London are supported by teams in Mumbai and Tokyo to deliver settlement of securities and payments along with a fully fledged Prime Brokerage solution.
The ideal candidate will have strong business knowledge acquired over a number of years spent working in financial services technology.
Role description:
The role requires the ability to analyse, test and support new applications within the Settlements Technology team.
Responsible for maintaining and further enhancing the current suite of back-office applications built around the Gloss Settlement system.
Working with users to complete requirement analysis, document Functional specifications, system and regression testing and support UAT and production releases that meet the highest standards of efficiency and maintainablity.
Key objectives critical to success:
- Proven IT experience in a Financial services back-office environment
- Experience of SDLC methodology including requirements analysis, process flows, gap analysis, data analysis, data mapping, systems documentation.
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Ability to communicate and work effectively within a multi-region team and with vendor partners.
- A desire to take responsibility and ownership of components/processes within the back office
- Ideally qualified to degree level in Computer Science or other numerate discipline
- Previous experience working with off-shore development teams
- Experience of out-sourcing processes and functions to third-party vendors
- Prime Brokerage experience

- End to End Project execution

- Working on large, complex, concurrent systems
- Swift messaging
- Euroclear, TRAM, Crest, TRAX knowledge
- System reconcilliation processes
Successful candidates will be engaged under a contract for services by Resource Solutions.
