My Client is an award winning Smart Grid company and Demand Response aggregator they are currently seeking a Project Manager within Energy Storage to successfully deliver projects in the UK and internationally.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and client facing project management (EPC) they will also have proven experience in delivering energy storage projects in the UK.
They will have experience in:
• Writing specifications,
• Reviewing risk assessments,
• Scheduling,
• Project scoping,
• CDM,
• Commissioning
• Performance Testing
• Commercial Acumen.
• Contract management

The ability to think strategically and understand the wider business context is a further benefit. The position requires a positive, self-starting, diligent individual with strong initiative. They will need to be self-motivated and set a clear project delivery strategy, whilst also supporting the project development and commercial functions.

They will be responsible for successful project delivery (time, cost, quality) and be an effective communicator capable of influencing suppliers, contractors, investors, clients and partners in a range of contexts.

Role Responsibilities:
• Support sales with site feasibility/suitability studies including analysing site generation and demand data
• Project manage EPC contractor;
• DNO liaison
• Installation management,
• Interface management; and commissioning and testing etc.
• Post contract administration;
• Manage setup of billing
• Coordination of maintenance; dealing with technical queries; and on-going day-to-day management of battery sites.
• To build and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders
• To set up and enforce project management functions
• Define and lead delivery strategy for energy storage projects

Person Specification
The successful candidate will be motivated and passionate about the clean tech energy sector. The role requires an excellent team player as it involves liaising with all areas of our business – International, Delivery, Sales, Technology, Operations and Senior Management)
• Degree in Electrical Engineering (postgraduate preferred)
• Sound knowledge and practical experience of technical, health, safety and environmental standards.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards/regulations/CoP including electrical safety (EaW), HASAWA, CDM, safe systems of work.
• Health and Safety leadership.
• Strong technical and projects background.
• Working knowledge of power generation and Battery Storage systems including battery cells, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cabling, control systems
• Construction experience on operational sites
• Knowledge/awareness of IEC technical standards and regulations
• Highly organised with diligent attention to detail
• Team player and self-motivated with confidence to lead
• High commercial awareness with focus on cost management
• Comfortable and competent both as client and in a client-facing tasks / roles
• Working knowledge of a foreign language is preferred but not essential.
