A very well-backed start-up in logistics is looking for its CHIEF DATA OFFICER. This is a very exciting and interesting project, as they continue to build out their Data Science team. Vast amounts of data are available for Data Scientists to analyze and take business insights from. They are also putting a large focus on machine learning, with geo-spatial projects.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS A CHIEF DATA OFFICER?
- Big Data, Machine Learning and Real-time prediction
- Design algorithms to be used on the mobile and website applications in order to generate customer and business insights
- Use programming tools such as Python, Spark and Scala, along with Machine Learning knowledge and algorithms
- Work on Machine Learning methods to improve customer revenue
- Develop predictions and forecasting using geo-spatial data
- Manage a team of 3 data scientists (growing team)
YOUR SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of Python
- You must have a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Maths, Stats or similar
- Working knowledge of Hadoop and Spark/Scala
- Able to understand critical business needs and translate them into mathematical models
- Have a very strong understanding of the theories behind Machine Learning
- Have a background in research with publications and conferences
- Complete fluency in English - working language in the office
