Application Developer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Application Developer for an opportunity in Richmond, VA. The Application Developer will analyze, design, code, test, and document systems supporting a variety of company business functions. Duties will also include: serving as team lead on larger projects, meeting with users to define project requirements, providing project estimates and troubleshooting production problems quickly and effectively. Successful candidates need to have the ability to follow logic to develop complex applications and good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that web enabled applications are accurate and user-friendly. Are cost effective so as to promote the sale of company products and to increase revenue
  • Ensure that all business applications are routinely, periodically and adequately maintained so as to promote the sale of products and to increase revenue
  • Ensure that the users (both internal and external ) of business applications receive adequate support in order to promote efficiencies that lead to reduced cost and an increase to revenue
  • Ensure that business applications are working properly in accordance with requirements and are reliable and secure
  • Participate in the agile process, design, and write programs of a technical or complex nature
  • Analyze user requirements
  • Encode, test, debug, and provide documentation of programs
  • Revise and update programs and documentation as required
  • Support Maintenance and New Development of all Internet/Intranet/Business applications (50%)
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of all intranet, and business applications including, but not limited to application enhancements and database changes
  • Gather well-formed requirements and develops system architecture needs
  • Strategize and plan existing and future business applications
  • Test and transition newly developed code as a fully integrated and functional system
  • Revise and update programs and documentation as required
  • Turnover completed and tested code to QA
  • Provide Solution Development and Design Assistance (20%)
  • Provide solution development assistance through the creation of component code and databases, building application programs, documentation, and unit and load testing
  • Provide Solution design assistance in both application development as well as data schemas
  • Provide Technical Guidance (20%)
  • Assist programmers with application or technical problems
  • Analyze user specifications and requirements
  • Research benefits and drawbacks of proposed releases of technological products
  • Work with team to assist in the improvement of business processes, testing systems to ensure functionality is satisfactory and recommending new systems or project upgrades
  • Maintain Customer Focus (10%)
  • Foster and build effective working relationships with internal, as well as external customers to meet their needs
  • Become familiar with and understands company policies and procedures
  • Support current operations initiatives within established timeframes
  • Gather requirement data from various stakeholders and constituencies
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement by identifying opportunities to improve services individually and collectively

Requirements:

  • SharePoint administration, Designer, development
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX, CRM, 365
  • Business application development
  • Ability to follow logic to develop complex applications and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, SQL Server, SSRS, Visual Studio, Entity Framework, VB.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, CSS, HTML, jQuery, XML, JavaScript, and UI Design
  • iSeries / AS400 – RPGIV experience a bonus
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Possesses broad design expertise for application, integration and technology solutions
  • Familiarity of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to technical needs
  • Service Oriented Architecture, web services, WCF, and service contract development
  • Understanding of web application security principles and best practices
  • Analytical, programming and communication skills; the ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies; experienced in working both independently and within a team framework; and experienced in setting and meeting project schedules
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of timelines
  • 8+ years of experience in development of web-based software, components and services using Microsoft .NET and familiarity with other web development technologies
  • SharePoint development and administration experience required
  • Dynamics AX, CRM, 365 experience preferred
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • An equivalent combination of training and professional work experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications
