Application Security Lead Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Application Security Lead for an opportunity in Dallas, TX. The Application Security Lead will lead and participate in workstream, pilot, and implementation activities. He or she will become a known source of application security expertise, and provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to developers on discovering and remediating software coding security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Help drive application teams towards meeting security practice compliance deadlines
• Ensure strong progress through side-by-side work with app managers through key secure coding deliverables
• Analyze and provide management reporting on vulnerability detection, remediation and compliance trending
• Assist architects in secure software design
• Provide the Secure Software Group (SSG) in Enterprise Information Security (EIS) feedback on information security related processes, tools, and procedures
• Support SSG communication efforts with application teams
• Build enterprise capabilities centrally
• Understand the key program milestones and overall timeline
• Attend project meetings, training, and other focus group sessions meant to upskill specific capabilities
• Improve the centralized offerings through continuous improvement activities
• Operationalize the enterprise practices within their CIO Group
• Build relationships; manage the local implementation with local partnerships
• Understand the change impact on key local processes, procedures, and activities
• Highlight deficiencies to be addressed by further training
• Help to further define responsibilities (e.g. arbitrate go/no-go decisions)
• Ensure appropriate governance processes are enacted
• Share learnings across the enterprise via the community of practice

Qualifications:

• Able to translate the overall application security vision to specific line of business initiatives
• Able to recognize resistance to change and balance being supportive of colleagues with the need to change
• Strong capabilities in the fields of application development, security and risk management plus negotiation and influencing skills
• Able to gain mastery in multiple facets of the Secure Development Lifecycle
• Demonstrate mastery in a technology sub-domain such as cloud, mobile, etc.
• Trusted and respected by colleagues; seen as a ‘go to’ person
• An active proponent of application security
• Regularly contributes to the growing community of practice
• Recognized the value of accurate and timely program governance
