Instructional Writer - Remote

Nashua, New Hampshire


Our client in Nashua, NH has a 6+ month contract opening for an Instructional Writer with Legal Compliance experience.

This role is 100% Remote.

Will be responsible for reading and absorbing legal and regulatory source materials and then reworking that material into instruction that is realistically conversational while also maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the subject matter.


Position Responsibilities
- Write instructional text, assessment questions, and additional resource materials for Compliance courseware
- Write realistic dialogue and narrative for scenario-based video training
- Work with internal IP creation staff to ensure all content is technically accurate, focused, and pitched appropriately for the target audience
- Ensure that the text in all deliverables has been thoroughly proofread and meets standards
- Work with reviewers to implement edits and to resolve cited issues expeditiously
- Complete high quality deliverables in accordance with agreed schedules
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required

Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum three years of experience in writing and/or designing multimedia training/instructional material
- One year of experience in writing training materials related to legal compliance and/or environmental, safety, and health compliance subject areas is preferred
- Professional experience in a training, teaching, editorial, or review role, preferably related to e-learning (designing, editing, writing, developing, etc.), virtual classroom training, or instructor-led training is highly advantageous
- Highly proficient in narrative and dialogue writing
- Highly proficient in time management and the ability to manage changing priorities and shifting deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word and Excel at a minimum
- Subject matter expertise in ES&H and/or legal compliance areas is highly desirable, but not a requirement
- Excellent English writing, message design, and communication skills are a must as well as strong listening and observation skills
- Creative writing experience is highly advantageous
- Experience working in a virtual team and/or with remote partners is highly desirable
- An ability to think visually and express those visuals in words; familiarity with graphic design elements appropriate for e-learning is a bonus

Education and Certifications
- Undergraduate degree required; Masters or other postgraduate qualification preferred
