I have an exciting opportunity working for a leading global bank based in Cheshire. My client is currently looking for an SOC Security Analyst to join their Attack Monitoring team. You will be responsible for the identification of network attacks from internal and external sources. You will act with the team in relation to identified incidents and threats, provide subject matter expertise and expert guidance to business areas in requirement of attack monitoring services due to regulatory or audit related requests.
Key skills and experience
• Previous SOC experience
• Broad understanding of security techniques and technologies including Intrusion Detection, Threat Analysis and Malware & Trojan Research.
• Expert understanding of the current and developing Malware & Trojan landscape
• In-depth know-how of full packet capture technologies
• Advanced knowledge of correlation tools and SIEM technologies
• In-depth understanding of sandbox technologies and their limitations
• In-depth experience of SourceFire, Snort, or similar Intrusion Detection systems
• Expert knowledge of intrusion detection signature development and knowledge of log analysis tools and techniques.
• Has advanced understanding of and experience with Linux based operating systems and associated development tools.
• Previous experience in working with decentralized logging infrastructures and automated log file analysis.
• Understanding of anomaly detection techniques and technologies.
• Experience with event response procedures; strong communication skills and ability to articulate events to the team.
• An understanding of the security mechanisms associated with Windows or Unix operating systems, switched networks, applications and databases.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
• Experience responding to information security and privacy incidents.
• Has a grasp of emerging security technologies such as Big Data mining tools
• Deep understanding of networking and application protocols.
