Quality Engineer

A first tier automtive supplier part of a worldwide group are expanding their Quality team and are looking for a Quality Engineer

 

The role of the Quality Engineer will be to;

 

  • Support engineering and production departments to resolve quality issues or concerns.
  • Control the company calibration system including checking fixtures, measuring equipment. Conduct checking fixture audits and perform checking fixture maintenance.
  • Support the decision making process with respect to internal (AEM) and external (customer) requirements.
  • To assist in the resolution of supplier concerns
  • To assist the training of members in product understanding and quality awareness

To ensure Company procedures comply with Customer and QMS expectations

 

The Quality Engineer be able to demonstrate :

 

  • A sound knowledge of automotive quality systems
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to read technical drawings
  • Good time-management skills
  • Flexibility in attitude to new ideas and unfamiliar methods
  • An organised and methodical approach to their work
  • A positive attitude to working on their own as well as in a team
  • Pride in their own personal appearance as well as in that of their workplace
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
  • Able to communicate at all levels

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • The Quality Engineer ideally will have served either an engineering apprenticeship or be
    qualified to ONC level or above.
  • Ideally they will have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or an associated role within an automotive manufacturer or first tier automotive supplier
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 environment and ideally have experience within a TS16949 environment.
  • Manufacturing experience ideally within automotive industry.
  • Ability to adhere to company quality systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of pressed parts and assembly processes.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment

 

In return you will recieve a salary 28-33k, pension match upto 4%, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays plus a day for each year served upto 5. 0830-1700 and 0830-1600 friday but flexible start and finish times.
