The  New Model Programmes organisation has responsibility for leading all launch activities through co-ordination of all Business Functions with the objective of achieving flawless Product Launches, on time, to cost, achieving quality targets and delivering to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Development, Purchasing, Suppliers and the Marketing, Sales & Service activities. The Pilot Operations team which forms a major part of the New Model Programme organisation are the lead for the build of all physical pre-production, verification units within the company. The principle objectives of the verification build are to confirm the Bill of Design, the Bill of Process, to support the generation of AIMS and supply the vehicles to internal customers to complete their activity, ensuring that the VP exit criteria are met. Ultimately, effectiveness is measured by reduction of production losses during the pre-production build phases in the manufacturing plant and the achievement of the ramp up plan, and the achievement of the main quality metrics, RFT, FTT and warranty. Key Responsibilities Act as the key interface for all VP build electrical resolution in EOL. Responsibility for ensuring IPT and Software download processes are validated and issues reported during VP build. Co-ordinate with Electrical Integration and VCATS in the development of an achievable software delivery, validation and download plan for each build.Skills Required:

 

The successful candidate should have the capability to drive and motivate the team to achieve results and continually implement process improvements. They should be determined to achieve deadlines and be pro-active in anticipating and preventing any build stopping issues. They will also need to ensure that the quality of the product is not compromised by the ability to achieve the timing plan.

Experience Required  The key points are; Engineering level experience of building vehicles and understanding of the functional systems therein. May have strengths in particular areas of vehicle systems. Analytical skills to define problem states comprehensively. Able to communicate this effectively to others; verbal & written. Leadership skills to be able to independently lead an activity, decision making, metric tracking & reporting, driving problem resolution and influence the team to deliver necessary results for quality and delivery metrics
