Quality Engineer - Automotive (Contract)

Walsall

£32 - £33 per hour

3 month contract

We are urgently looking for a customer facing quality engineer We are looking for both a contractor and someone full-time. The business is an automotive tier 1 manufacturer based in the West Midlands. The business has brand new investment into the facility as well as aggressive growth plans for the coming years.

The right person will Represent the customer within the plant and ensures that only approved products are shipped to the customer, monitors the customer quality indicators and drives related improvement programs..

THE ROLE:

• Drives customer complaint resolution process and the follow up of related action plans.

• Initiates and leads 8D, 5Why, Root cause analysis, Lessons Learnt in the case of customer complaints / failures during serial production.

• Assures consistency of the Quality Indicators (customer ppm, complaints etc) with the indicators reported by the customer.

• Responsible to include customer specific requirements and all important aspects for the customer in the internal product audit check list and to agree boundary samples where necessary.

• Reviews part handling practices at the customer assembly line to check the adequate use of our products.

• Manages deviations (Product, process) in serial production.

• Organizes and participates on technical meetings with the customer (technical problem solving, progress planned

• Responsible for the PPAP during serial production and making any changes during product / process changes.

• Responsible for the update to the quality documentation eg.PFMEA, control plan work instructions during series production

THE PERSON:

• Manufacturing practices background (High volume precision Machining and gauging techniques)

• IATF16949 or ISO/TS 16949

• CORE TOOLS (FMEA, 8D, APQP, SPC, PPAP)
