Salary: GBP55000 - GBP60000 per annum + benefits

A Modern Automtive tier 1 manufacturer is looking for a Plant Manager

 

Main purpose of the job

To implement and Co-ordinate the site objectives to meet the needs of the Business Plan, Business KPIs.

 

Principal duties and responsibilities

 

  Preparation and control of annual operational budgets to achieve targets set.

 Control of operational performance on a week-to-week basis ensuring profit targets are maximised, and set budgets are adhered to.

  To chair Weekly Operational Meetings and provide minutes for Group Directors.

  To identify operational capacity by facility to ensure bottlenecks are avoided and maximised to potential sales of the plant. 

  Ensure headcount (including Temp staff ) is in place to support and deliver business objectives across the site.  

  Ensure all team members fully understand their duties and responsibilities and are tasked to achieve their goals and objectives.

  Carry out annual Performance and Development Appraisals and ensure training & development needs are identified and addressed.

  To implement and maintain a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the business.

  To maintain close communication with customers ensuring that information is passed in both directions in a timely manner.

  To ensure that the plant is fully compliant with all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations / standards.

  To hold regular meetings with Unions / Works Representatives, maintaining a healthy working relationship with the elected committee members

  To be responsible for the security and storage of all plant, equipment, tooling and materials and facilities.

  To ensure daily Production Meetings are held and adequate measures are taken to meet customer requirements in full.

  To prepare and control Capital Expenditure budgets each year and project timings / savings are achieved from Cap Ex projects.

  Hold Monthly Management reviews with Managers to ensure all business KPIs, business plans, process improvement projects and new projects are to plan.

  Ensure One Pager targets are met across all areas.   Ensure 3-year business plan updated annually to support business K.P.I’ s, sales pipeline and strategic decision for site.

 

  Submit monthly board report and attend board meeting.

 

 Health and Safety Responsibilities

 

  • Actively lead the implementation of our Health and Safety Policy and Health and Safety Management System within areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work.
  • Ensure any health and safety remedial actions {RAR} are progressed and scheduled actions are completed on time and validated.
  • Ensure accidents, ill health and ‘near miss’ incidents at work are investigated, recorded and reported, supported by HSE Manager.
  • Communicate and consult with staff on health and safety issues.
  • Encourage staff to report hazards and raise health and safety concerns.
  • Ensure welfare facilities are provided and maintained in a satisfactory state.
  • Ensure premises, plant and work equipment are maintained in a safe condition.
  • Refer any safety issues that cannot be dealt with to a company Director.
  • Ensure that health and safety rules are followed by all.
