Electrical /mechanical fitter

Electrical /mechanical fitter (894196) Castle Donington, England

Salary: GBP26000 - GBP27000 per annum + lots of overtime

Overall Purpose:

·         Maintain and replace  components Working in a high pace environment

·         Dual Skilled Fitter with Strong Mechanical & Electrical knowledge of rotating equipment. Namely, Pumps, Gearboxes & Geared units

·         Responsible for ensuring the correct H&S, procurement and administration procedures are followed on every job.

·         Key Responsibilities:

·         Repair mechanical / electrical equipment on various asset types.

·         Be expected to produce high quality work working.

·         Be able to swiftly and comprehensively fault-find, rectify problems on mechanical equipment.

·         Maintain and repair mechanical/electrical in the workshop & occasionally on site.

·         Actively take part in risk assessment, and all related Health and Safety issues.

·         Identify problematic plant and the subsequent faults and to take part in finding efficient solutions to return equipment to working order.

·         Provide knowledge and information to operational teams and customers.

·         Day to day liaison with operational staff.

·         All other reasonable tasks and duties as and when required

Person Specification - Qualifications

·          Apprentice qualification or higher

·         Mechanical Engineering qualification or Industry served

  • Five years’ Experience working in Mechanical/Electrical environment

Person Specification – Skills and Knowledge

·         Good communication skills;

·         Experience in working with Water utility assets advantageous

·         Ability to communicate well with team at all levels to discuss, liaise and negotiate work related tasks

·         Good customer services skills;

·         Proven working experience in a work shop environment

·         Skill in operating machinery & precision measurement

·         Ability to interpret documents/drawings

·         Must be able to problem solve, re-engineer worn / broken components

Person Specification – General Requirements

·         Driving Licence (Desirable)

·         Working towards high engineering standards;

·         Forward thinking and communication is vital.

·         Attention to detail;

·         Teamwork and collaboration  Initiative

·         Flexible working & shift patterns to meet demands of business.

·         Potential site visits therefore driving licence would be advantageous but not essential.

Hourly rate £13.50.

37.5 hours per week. 8am – 4pm.

Over Time paid at time plus half.

 

25 days plus Bank Holidays.

Pension 4% by company 5% by employee.

Two times annual salary life assurance.

 

PPE and Work wear provided.
