Job Description

Position: Material Control Operative

Main Purpose of Role

Maintain stock accuracy, delivery of orders on time in full to customers. To receive material, identify and locate accurately with stores. Ensure flow of associate paperwork and computer data. To provide a prompt and accurate picking on timely bases to service production works orders and customer orders and ensuring flow of associated paperwork and computer data.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving, storing, packing and or unpacking of goods and checking quantity advised against quantity received from suppliers and raising discrepancy with supplier / purchasing.
• Entering all material movements onto Sage ERP system and follow through with stock investigation of any discrepancies.

Loading and or unloading of vehicles and any stock movements to and from warehouse or production cells.

• Feeding and issuing of material to production lines in accordance with production requirements.
• Raising picking lists, despatch notes, and any other documentation or labels required for the production or movement of goods.
• Conducting cycle counts (PI) in accordance with the area KPI and full inventory counts of all material on site as requested.

Maintaining accurate stock records and reports.

Conducting daily 5S duties and general housekeeping.

• Ensuring all material is stored in correct locations and in accordance with H&S.
• Emptying scrap bins and maintaining accurate records of scrap material. Checking reporting of damaged goods, expiry dates and obsolete material.
• Labelling and relabelling of products.
• Raising work orders in accordance with production plans.
• Responsible for receiving / packing and storage of finished goods and picking customer orders.
• Controlling and booking of all raw material returned by production into stores area.

 Continuous Improvements.

• All other material management duties as requested.

Skills and Experience

• Qualified forklift driver
• Computer literate for booking in goods, raising work orders, issuing material and transfer of material. Ideally on SAGE EPR system. Minimum of 2 years' experience within a tier 1 automotive company within a material / store environment.
