Water Network Technician – Cornwall & Devon Job in Cornwall We are a private utilities company providing water and wastewater services to 1000+ MoD establishments across England and Wales under a 25-year private finance initiative agreement. Our operations are run from eight base locations across the contract area, with a head office in South Yorkshire. With ambitious plans to grow into an expanding marketplace, we are looking for individuals with the skills and enthusiasm to join our field team. This role involves travel, some limited night working and possible nights away, the area covers a region spanning Cornwall/Devon and the surrounding areas. You may also be required to travel to other areas of England & Wales when required. As well as a competitive salary, this role attracts:

The purpose of the role is to reduce water leakage and increase consumption across the MOD package this means working in the field carrying out duties that includes leakage detection, metering, meter reading, data logging, valve operations, network zoning/optimisation and maintaining water quality. Responsible for ensuring both planned and reactive work is completed correctly to meet contractual, legal and internal requirements. To be accountable for water usage patterns on MOD sites: to find and measure ‘unaccounted for water’; identify all consumption and manage all data acquisition activities for measurement. Ensure that Crown Fire Standards are complied with across all MOD Sites in Region. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • Technical expertise a similar role within the water industry / water network • Understating of leakage and network optimisation • Technical expertise in the testing and inspection of water assets • Ability to set up and configure loggers (pressure & flow) • Knowledge of water supply configurations • Competent numeracy and IT skills • Commercial awareness and customer focus • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical messages in a simple way. • Excellent problem solving skills • Ability to make decisions and assess work based on risk and impact. • Ability to work well as part of a team but also independently using own initiative • Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilising correct PPE, lone worker system & safe working practices • Health and safety focused • Full, manual, drivers licence • The ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes. Please note you must have been a resident of the UK for the past 5 years to obtain security clearance. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £22,000.00 to £26,000.00 /year
