Role Description

Purpose of Role:

To install and maintain equipment at the Coventry site ensuring that all plant and machinery remains in good working order.  Where faults occur the postholder will use their experience to accurately assess and determine the fault and rectify in a timely and cost efficient manner.

 To provide support to the Maintenance Supervisor in order to facilitate consistency within the Maintenance provision across the facility.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  1. To proactively assess the tasks required to support the continuous efficient running of all Assembly Lines, delegating or escalating tasks where required.
  2. To undertake preventative maintenance, inspections and installation work; reporting any relevant information to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  3. To ensure consistent Maintenance provision is available through enabling appropriate support for the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
  4. To assist other departments in the maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure the specified area functions correctly.
  5. To ensure that development is undertaken in order to maintain good knowledge and understanding of the maintenance function.
  6. To ensure all work is carried out to the best possible level and that all work is undertaken in a safe manner, in line with approporiate Health & Safety requirements.
  7. To ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained and updated to meet relevant compliance requirements.
  8. To look to continuously improve Maintenance systems to maximise the team’s efficiency for the business.

Education

and Training

 

 

  • Heavy industrial background training, e.g. paint, shot blasters.

 

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic apprenticeship or similar.
  • Strong fault finding skills built up through both training & application.

 

 

 

Experience

 

 

 

  • Specific exposure to a manufacturing Paint environment.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in a similar maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance.
  • Experience of modern manufacturing and maintenance techniques, including data collection, computerised systems and  fault finding skills.

 

Key Skills

 

 

 

 

  • Some exposure or experience of leadership techniques from a current or previous role.

 

 

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • PC literate, with knowledge of MS Windows applications (Excel & Word).
  • Excellent fault finding skills, through training and experience.
  • Excellent bench skills.
