Salary: GBP400 - GBP410 per day Java Developer - Spring, Groovy/Grails, AWS, TDD - Social gaming
Java Developer required for a leading social gaming company based in the ever-growing Silicon Roundabout area. The Java Developer will work as part of a small, dedicated team of Agile hackers in a test-driven, automated environment.
The Java Developer will be using JVM languages and the latest Java platform technologies to build scalable, cloud-backed servers and platforms for a discerning seven-figure user base.
Job Requirements:
- 4+ years of commercial Java application design
- Knowledge of at least one relevant Application Server (JBoss/Tomcat/Weblogic)
- A strong Agile background and an enthusiasm for all things TDD
- 3+ years of daily exposure to multiple components of Spring
- An excellent knowledge of, and 3+ years experience with Hibernate/JPA
- Knowledge of Groovy/Grails
- Knowledge of Cloud storage solutions (Amazon Web Services, EC2, S3)
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of a functional language (preferably Clojure/Haskell/Scala)
- Knowledge of heavy messaging tools (ActiveMQ/RabbitMQ/ZeroMQ/Omq) Knowledge of SOA SOAP/REST/JAXB
- Knowledge of big data tools (Hadoop/HBase)
- Java 7
- Knowledge of one or more NoSQL database (Cassandra / MongoDB / CouchDB)
The Java Developer will be building robust content for an assortment of different games, including MMOs, handheld games and more straightforward browser-based products. You will be working in a dedicated team of Agile enthusiasts creating the next generation of clean, crisp and highly useable social games.
