About the Role
The main purpose of the role is to be a key member of the Regional Commercial Team in delivering profitability for the region through contractor procurement, cost planning and control, and general commercial input through the private development process. To understand, implement and adhere to SHEQ policy and strategy.
Key Responsiblilties
Increase Trade Contractor Base
Identify new Trade Contractor Partners: - Meet and explain the Homes culture and ‘all-risk’ packaging - Obtain prices on standard house types on partnering agreement
Improve relationships with existing Trade Contractors, resolve issues that may arise and communicate requirements
Negotiate prices on all non-standard house types.
Implement group purchasing and subcontractor initiatives and carry out periodic negotiations.
‘All-risk’ Civil Engineering Procurement
Tender for ‘all risk’ Road, Sewers and Plot works:
Negotiate best value packages
Present for approval
Procure land remediation subcontract packages.
Procure New Site Starts
Deliver work in hand levels to match company aspirations:
Generate the production of private and partnership bids, including risk management
where required Identify and deliver negotiated further work from existing relationships
Influence and drive partnership teams to maximize turnover from existing frameworks
What you Need to Succeed
You must be Educated with a Degree in Quantity Surveying and have a minimum of 4yrs post grad experience in housebuilding as a QS / Assistant QS. You must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to fully operate Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, COINS and Envision. . You will have commercial responsibility for 3 sites concurrently so must be highly organised and have a professional approach to work.
