Projects Manager - Leisure (Projects Manager) City Of Manchester, England

Salary: GBP24 - GBP26 per hour + Bonus scheme

Projects Manager - Leisure Contractor - Manchester Based - £24-26ph 

One of the Norths leading Main Contractors in the Leisure sector who have a busy order book with projects commencing across Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria and Merseyside have an opportunity for a Projects Manager to join their senior management team to be based out of their head office in Manchester.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Bid Phase (Phase 1)

  • Attend the bid start up meeting and carry out allocated actions where required
  • Carry out actions to assist the bid process where requested
  • Attend adjudication meetings where requested and carry out allocated actions

Lead-In Phase (Phase 2)

  • Attend contract start up meeting and carry out allocated actions
  • Attend client and design team meetings, where appropriate, and carry out allocated actions
  • As requested by the Director responsible prepare the information required schedule and initial contractors report and issue to client and design team
  • In conjunction with the planner produce and issue the construction programme

Project Delivery (Phase 3)

  • As requested by the Director responsible produce the contractors report and the information required schedule and present to client and design team at site meetings in line with company procedures.
  • Achieve set ‘project success’ targets (safety, time, quality, profitability, customer satisfaction)
  • Ensure all project delivery activities are carried out in line with company procedures
  • Carry out weekly review with the site manager and complete/allocate actions as appropriate
  • Review, amend and update the construction programme in line with the company procedure including the issue of short term target programmes where necessary
  • Attend and chair if requested by the Director responsible the contract review meetings and complete / allocate actions as appropriate
  • Carry out subcontract interviews and co-ordination with the required project team members, take minutes and allocate actions
  • Produce the material procurement schedule
  • Ensure all works are carried out in manner to achieve client retention
  • Ensure practical completion certificate are received within agreed timescales

Post Completion (Phase 4)

  • Attend post contract review meeting and carry out actions where allocated
  • Ensure all reported defects are completed within pre-agreed timescales
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout defect liability period
  • Ensure making good defects certificates are received within agreed timescales

General

  • Attend Senior Management meetings and provide reports, as appropriate
  • Manage Staff and workforce in line with Manager’s Handbook
  • Contribute to Improvement & Development of all ‘Project Delivery Procedures’
  • Promote via key contacts Business Development opportunities
  • Attend and contribute to Company Strategic Planning Workshops

Reports

  • Compile and issue ad-hoc reports as requested

Health & Safety

  • Comply with and promote effective health and safety procedures in your work
  • Contribute to Improvement & Development of company Health & Safety procedures

General Responsibility

  • To ensure the effective customer service and liaison within client and external bodies
  • To ensure compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998
  • To maintain and update knowledge of professional developments and relevant legislation
  • To assist and suggest recommendations for improvements to systems, procedures and controls as necessary
  • To attend supervision, training and meetings as and when required
  • To work flexible hours as appropriate to the needs of the business
  • Undertake additional tasks identified by means of internal request
  • To ensure the principles of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 is at the forefront of everything we do.
