Costing Engineer/Graduate (LEAN MANUFACTURING) - High Wycombe, Bucks

A new vacancy for a Costing Engineer/Graduate with global US engineering firm specializing the development & manufacture of high-performance materials. The company's products are used by customers in a wide range of industries around the world including electronics, telecoms, automotive, aerospace and military.

The Costing Engineer/Graduate will be primarily responsible for supporting the strategic pricing department and engineering team in providing costs and analysis in order to improve business growth and profitability. Candidates should be financially aware individuals with at least 1-2yrs experience working in a fast-paced engineering environment - those with mechanical, electro-mechanical or materials engineering knowledge will be of particular interest.

Key activities will include:
- Calculating the time, costs and processes required to engineer basic parts with the engineering team.
- Loading parts, bill of materials (BOMs) and routings onto sales and accounting system (JDE)
- Maintenance of parts in the Item Master within JDE
- Managing purchasing from local suppliers
- Contributing to daily quote review
- Developing future pricing tools and decision trees
- Supporting in development of segmentation strategy and variance based analysis
- Analyzing data to support adherence to costing guidelines
- Attending regular reviews of price variance charts & metrics
- Ad hoc reporting to the Pricing Manager for cost gap analysis
