Mgr, Clinical Research (RN).  Requires: Bachelors degree in a clinical or scientific related discipline desired, Bachelors degree nursing preferred.  Minimum of 7 years nursing experience, clinical or scientific related discipline, preferably in oncology.  Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.  RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.  Current BCLS or ACLS certification required for nurses.  SoCRA or ARCP certification preferred.

Manages the Practices Research Department programs, operations, and staff.  Ensures site research quality by practicing in compliance, Standard Operating Procedures (COP), principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.  Supports and adheres to the Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Manages a Practices clinical research programs and operations in accordance with SOP and ICH GCP guidelines.  Responsible for ensuring at the administrative level that all research activities are coordinated with affected departments within the practice.

-Collaborates with the Site Research Leader (SRL), physicians of the practice and research committee in the process of study selection for the research program.  Develops and implements research budgets that include accrual targets and financial objectives for each research location, in collaboration with practice management.  Responsible for promoting or marketing research programs to the practice, community and referring physicians.  Coordinates research activities with other non bases or sponsors.

-Develops research accountability standards, metrics, and reports and identifies areas for improvement.  Collaborates with site research leader (SRL) and research staff in the implementation of action plans designed to improve practice research operations and quality assurance functions.

-Leads meetings and facilitates groups to achieve desired results.  Utilizes facilitation tools to ensure participation, innovation and decision-making among group; effectively uses group process techniques.

-Develops and implements short term goals that align with the company’s vision and business goals.  Cascades goals down to staff’s annual objectives.

-Develops and maintains current policy and procedural manual and communicates plans appropriately throughout the organization.  Coaches and develops staff.  Provides on-going job related education and training to staff.  May develop training materials.

-Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, recommending hires, assessing performance, recommending salary changes, progressive discipline, and retention of staff.  Enforces adherence to policies.

-Other duties as requested or assigned.

 WORK ENVIROMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.  Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients.  Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
