We are looking for a Sous Chef with a proven track record of working in a fresh food kitchen environment cooking a range of British style modern dishes. The successful Chef will need to be a team player, with great communication skills, who is highly organised and able to take the lead in the absence of the Head Chef maintaining high standards and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.

Company – Situation near Malton, North Yorkshire this rural country inn offers a restaurant and bar with a relaxed feel to its customers.  Using some great local and seasonal ingredients this fantastic hospitality venue prides itself on showcasing the best of British food, serving up to 1000 meals at week!

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Sous Chef experience
  • Excellent knowledge & experience of food safety legislation
  • Experience of working within a fresh food kitchen
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also be self-motivated at certain times
  • Own transport due to business location

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all meals are prepared and presented to an agreed high standard and quality.
  • To ensure any special dietary requirements are met.
  • To ensure adequate stock levels are in place.
  • To contribute ideas to seasonal menus and specials.
  • To adhere to all quality control systems, food safety and risk assessments, completing all documentation required legally and by the business.
  • To help train, guide and mentor staff while working in the kitchen.

Hours of work – working within this successful business you will feel part of the family.  You will be expected to work 45 hours a week through 5 out of 7 day incorporating split shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
