The Position - Castle Hospitality division have a fantastic opportunity and are recruiting for a Commis Chef, with a minimum of 1-year kitchen experience.  Applicants should be hard working, work well as part of a team, reliable and committed to learning and developing their skills.

Reporting to – Chef de Partie/Sous Chef/Head Chef

Requirements:

• One-year kitchen experience
• Work well as part of a team
• Able to work under pressure
• Good understanding of HACCP and food safety legislation
• Good organisational skills

The Company – Situated in Whitby is this privately owned, award-winning Rosette standard restaurant and bar, serving fresh, seasonal, local food.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting the chefs with deliveries of stock.
• Assist in preparing ingredients for the team of chefs.
• To adhere to all quality control systems, food safety and risk assessments, completing all documentation required legally and by the business.
• Assisting with the smooth running of all the kitchen areas.

Hours of work – working within this successful business you will be expected to work 5 out of 7 days with a varying range of shifts as per the kitchen rota.
