We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager based in the Whitby, North Yorkshire area, with a salary up to £28,000 depending on the experience.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the all aspects of the restaurant and bar that is in the centre of Whitby. This position is permanent and offers full-time hours working in a rota 5 days over 7, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays. You will be an excellent motivator and leader, with a focus on guest satisfaction and have strong management experience working in a restaurant/catering industry.

The Company – This independent/bespoke hospitality venue boasts a restaurant, bar and accommodation in the centre of Whitby.  They pride themselves on the use of fresh produce, whilst also working with an extensive bar and cocktail menu within a fantastic team environment.

Role:

• Overall running & management of the Restaurant and Bar
• Stock management including ordering, rotation, deliveries pricing based on GP
• Staff management including training, rotas based on forecasted numbers
• Take an active role in setting up weekly meetings to discuss events, menu planning etc
• Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH Requirements
• Take an active part in the closing and opening procedures of the kitchen including the pot wash & cleaning
• Be actively involved in the management of stock alongside the kitchen team

Requirements:

• Experience hands on manager with relevant restaurant & bar experience
• Proven knowledge of been able to mange a team involving staff development
• Be able to motivate and build relationships within the teams
• Experience working with budgets and forecasts including GP’s
• To work in a professional manor

Benefits – The role of Duty Manager is offering a competitive salary of up to £28,000 per year, you will be expected to work 5 out of 7 days and up to 45 hours per week, you would be expected to work evenings, weekends & bank holidays and can take advantage of a share of the tips.  Due to the location of the business it is easily accessible in the centre of town.
