The Position - Castle Hospitality division have a fantastic opportunity and are recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef for a local unique hospitality client based in the Helmsley area, North Yorkshire.   The successful Sous Chef will proactively assist in ensuring the overall quality and effectiveness of the kitchen.  As Sous Chef you will ensure consistent standards in all areas of the kitchen, the main aim being guest care and satisfaction.

Reporting to – Head Chef

Requirements:

  • Experience at Sous Chef level in a Rosette environment
  • Motivational and delegation skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and resourcefully
  • A high understanding of HACCP and food safety legislation
  • Own transport due to business location

The Company – This award-winning luxury hospitality client is based in the Helmsley area of North Yorkshire, offering high service standards in various divisions of hospitality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning, organising and control of the day to day operation of the department ensuring the standards of performance are maintained and total customer satisfaction is achieved. Whilst maintaining costs in line with budgets
  • To assist the Head Chef in ensuring HACCP is in place
  • Supervise the work of the kitchen team allocating duties and responsibilities
  • To assist the Head Chef in supervising all food preparation and production
  • Attend any meetings when the Head Chef is not available
  • Keep the kitchen as clean as possible with a weekly rota
  • Ensure good communication throughout the kitchen department at all times
  • Deputise for the Head Chef in their absence
  • To assist the Head Chef in delivering training sessions to the kitchen team
  • Attend meetings as requested by management of the hotel
  • To adhere to the food allergens regulations

Hours of work -  You will be expected to work 5 out of 7 days working across a mixture of days and shifts with the ability to be flexible with working schedules.
