Head Chef for this stunning venue on the outskirts of Scarborough involves pushing the reputation of this business forward and developing the already well-established function trade.  There is a great opportunity to put your stamp on this business and develop the restaurant trade, as Head Chef you do not need Rosette experience, but the aspiration is to push for Rosette standard food within the restaurant.

The Company – Operating on the outskirts of Scarborough is this luxury hotel offering fantastic rooms and an amazing selection of food offerings including weddings, corporate events, afternoon tea and a great restaurant experience

Role:

  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of fresh food and cooking techniques
  • Inspire the team in driving food consistency and knowledge
  • Assist with the recruitment process for future chefs as and when required and to ensure all new starter inductions are complete.
  • To ensure all compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Plan & develop front of house menus along with organising food for functions and events while liaising with the customers
  • Stock management including purchasing & control of wastage
  • To ensure the correct use of equipment and report any maintenance issues
  • Control all operating expenses within the area in line with budgeted GP%
  • Ensure all legislation and company policies are adhered to
  • To support the General Manager in ensuring that all food departments run efficiently to maximise profitability
  • To work with the General Manager to report on budgets and feedback any variances from departments
  • To work as part of the team with the Front of House Managers to support and cover each other when required

Requirements:

  • Experience at Head Chef Level
  • Experience in menu development
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 or above
  • NVQ Catering Qualifications
  • Allergen Awareness
  • Experience in monitoring GP and working with budgets

Benefits – The role of Head Chef is offering a very competitive salary of up to £32,000 per year depending on your experience, offering also a share of tips and the possibility of a bonus structure.  You would be required to work up to 45 hours a week over 5 days including evenings, weekend & bank holidays as the business requires.  As Head Chef there is free parking and meals available on duty alongside discounts that are available in the venue for staff members.
