As a Senior Chef within this venue you will be assisting the Head of Catering with the planning, organising and developing of food and beverage services, alongside been involved in the general day to day catering activities to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen.
The Company – Built in 1890 this hospitality venue is in the North Yorkshire National Park within 11 acres of grounds. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced produce for a seasonally changing menu and caters for individuals and groups of all ages.
Role:
- Assist the Head of Catering in planning menus
- Assisting & Monitoring of the quality of the product and service provided
- Provide cover for the Head of Catering in their absence
- Assist in maintaining stock levels
- Ensuring health & safety regulations are strictly observed
- Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the industry such as menus, trends and consumer tastes
Requirements:
- Food Hygiene Level 2 minimum
- Basic NVQ in Catering
- 2 year's experience in a hotel at Sous Chef or Head Chef Level
- Experience in menu development & costings
- To help train, guide and mentor staff while working in the kitchen.
Benefits – The role of Senior Chef will mean you are required to work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days of varying shifts including split shifts at a pay rate of £9.50 per hour. Working as a Senior Chef you will have the opportunity to interact with the public & guests on occasions.
