Senior Financial Analyst (90TL) Irvine, California

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for creating financial reports for internal and external use, collecting and analyzing financial data to help drive strategic decision making within the company. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Prepares financial / performance statements and corresponding analysis
  • Analyzes sales / financial data and clearly communicate opportunities / issues to management team
  • Develop and distribute financial and unit performance reports
  • Conduct post-analysis projects to report outcomes of marketing trials / sales programs
  • Work closely with departments in order to provide end to end view of business performance
  • Assess business issues and provide information and advice to assist growth, productivity, and profit improvement.
  • Provide relevant and consistent management information
  • Provide analytical support and financial oversight for the senior management team
  • Consult with business leaders to develop performance metrics; report on and challenge business performance regularly using standard reporting metrics as well as internally developed business specific metrics
  • Create budgets and forecasts using department leaders’ objectives and initiatives while aligning with company guidance
  • Share ideas and best practices; work to achieve globally consistent approach to financial analytics
  • May be assigned special projects as required

 

Skills

  • Financial reporting and/or financial analysis experience at a larger company
  • Experience analyzing data and providing recommendations to management
  • Ability to work with managers throughout the company in analyzing financial situations
  • Expert ability to prepare financial reports
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
  • Proficient in excel and power point

 

 

Experience and Education

  • Undergraduate degree in finance or business related fields necessary (accounting degree preferred)
  • 5-6 years related experience
