Middle Office Analyst Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Middle Office Analyst for an opportunity in Charlotte, NC. The candidate will be will be supporting the Residential Mortgage Backed Securities trading platform which includes the Agency Pass- through Desk (15 & 30 year trading of TBAs and Pools), Agency Specified Pool trading desk, Agency CMO trading desk, Agency CMO derivate (i.e. IO’s, PO’s, floaters, inverse floaters, etc.) trading desk, Agency Arms trading desk, Middle Market trading desk, Non-Agency/Private Issue RMBS trading desk, and the Whole Loan trading desk from a Middle Office Operations perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Support trading and hedging activities across TBA contracts, treasuries, futures, options, interest rate swaps, & CDS Index swaps.
• Profit & Loss generation and attribution, exception resolution, project management, position and trade maintenance, and regulatory reporting.
• Interact closely with multiple business partners including Trading, Sales, Finance, Technology, Compliance, Auditors, MBS Allocations, Business Managers, Project Managers, and our internal TRACE reporting group.
• Work with external counterparties, including government housing agencies, in confirming new issue requests, exchanges, and assuring trades settle appropriately.
• Be responsible for a variety of day to day tasks, as well as ad hoc requests and project work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-2+ years of capital markets work experience with a preferred concentration on Residential Mortgage Backed Securities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment while responding to complex ad-hoc requests with extreme attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and request simultaneously.
• Exceptional organization, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Must be highly proficient with Microsoft product suite including Excel, Outlook, Word, & Access.
• A 4-year degree from an accredited university is required with a preferred concentration in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
• Experience with establishing and monitoring project plans and deadlines is a must.
• The ability to work long hours, typically 7:00AM to 7:00PM, Monday-Friday.

Preferred Requirements:

• A keen eye for operational risk and the ability to apply this attribute in day-to-day work.
• Graduate work and other professional designations (MBA, CFA, etc.) is preferred.
• Experience with Winfits (ION SYSTEMS), Calypso, MATS, Spanklin, Broadridge, and Bloomberg are strongly preferred.
• The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of Money Market instruments most importantly; Agencies RMBS secondary trading and new issued Agency CMO’s.
• The candidate must should understand and have prior experience working with the three main government housing agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae).
• 1+ years working directly working with Mortgage-Backed Securities or Asset-Backed securities.
• Some experience with financial calculations including P&L and complex attribution analytics.
