Mobile Health is a growing occupational healthcare organization that utilizes technology solutions and customer service to fuel its growth. Mobile Health owns and operates six facilities in New York City and is a leading provider of employee screening services, providing over 150,000 drug screens and related physical exams each year. Mobile Health clients also have access to a growing network of facilities throughout the Northeast for employee screening services.

Working at Mobile Health

The Medical Record Reviewer is responsible for assisting the Assistant Medical Director in the review of all externally generated medical documentation and contacting patients for medical follow up needs. They will also provide training of medical staff

Essential Functions:

  • In accordance with policies and procedures
  • Review insurance labs and medical history to determine need for a medical follow up.
  • Contact patients to discuss abnormal results and recommend alternative for a medical follow up.
  • Recognizes situations which require the immediate attention of a Clinician (MD/NP/PA).
  • Review external medical documentation for inclusion into the EMR.
  • Code medical exams in Medi-q as needed.
  • Interact with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
  • Interact with clinicians, other health professionals and staff in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all Personal Health Information as dictated by HIPAA laws
  • Effectively communicate and interact with patients and or agencies
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment
  • Attention to detail and strong computer skills
  • Any other duties as directed by Management


Competencies:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
  • Current Registered Nurse License registered by the New York State Department of Education
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification, either by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current Infection Control Certificate
  • Obtain MROA (Medical Review Officer Assistant) certification.
  • Ability to relate well to patients and supporting staff
  • Bilingual Fluency preferred (Spanish)
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with the use of electronic medical record system
  • Minimum of 1 year of previous related work experience in occupational health and/or primary healthcare services
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional fast-paced office environment with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type / Expected Hours

This is a part-time position with flexible hours and the potential to become full-time.

Travel

This role does not require travel except on rare occasions for special projects or training.
