Driver / Rail Loader (CB101) Birmingham, England
| Salary: | GBP9.72 - GBP9.82 per hour + £0.32 supplement on the train |
Main Duties will include:
Driving vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines
Securing vehicles to rail cars by using chains or chocks as required
The setup rail car bridge plates
Operating, raising and lowering rail car doors
Transporting vehicles around the compound
Quality checking all vehicles for damage and communicating any damage found with relevant supervisor
Complete all documentation in regards to damage and movement of vehicles
Adhere to all company safety standards
Various duties as required to support the operation in a team environment
Experience and Competencies:
Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year
Minimum driving experience of 1 year
Capable of driving standard and automatic left and right hand vehicles
Good visual ability
Good sence of balance
Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground
Able to pass Safe Driving, Rail & Ramp assessments
Able to work in all weather conditions
Able to read, write and comprehend documents and to follow directions, both written and verbal
A flexible approach to working hours and place of work
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
Work is carried out in extremely tight spaces on rail cars, at times 15 ft above the ground
