Our client, a leading repairs and maintenance contractor from the Yorkshire area, require an experienced Health and Safety Manager to be responsible for the group as a whole.
The successful applicant will:
- Ensure the company continually works within all Health & Safety guidelines and remain fully compliant at all times
- Create and maintain all Health & Safety documents necessary for the company to carry out its operations
- Keep up to date with changes to legislation, accreditation and advise on necessary changes in working practices throughout the group
- Plan, deliver and record all employees Health & Safety related training
- Produce an audit document for each site with improvement plans where required
- Share good practice gained through operational experience with all relevant managers through briefings and workshops to produce action plans for improvement where required
- Maintain an up to date suite of Health & Safety documents including policies, reports, advice, training and literature for internal staff
- Implement and review Quality systems including production of an employee handbook.
Experience in the following areas is essential
- Risk assessments
- Auditing and Inspections
- Investigating / reporting on accidents and incidents
- Safe systems of work
- Knowledge of Health & Safety law and regulations
- Health and Safety management systems
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent is essential
Successful applicants will have a proven track record of carrying out a similar role for a building contractor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
You will have a full, clean UK driving licence
