Production Coordinator (ProdCo) West Midlands, England
PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure the smooth running of the Shop Floor with regards to H&S, HR issues and Production needs. To provide cover for Team Leaders as required when absent, on annual leave, sickness or training.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To Assist the Production Manager in ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental policies are fully implemented, monitor compliance and update all safe operating procedures and modular training as required.
- To assist with the maintenance and compliance of housekeeping standards (zone control areas), daily auditing of zones and all 5S areas. Promoting continuous improvements in all aspects of manufacturing, providing support as required and the evaluation of improvement suggestions.
- To assist with the control of the availability of labour (with regards to both employed personnel and agency operatives), to ensure that quality and delivery performances are achieved in the most effective manner.
- To deliver a morning shop floor production meeting, updating and ensuring all actions are followed through and closed out when completed.
- To monitor the use and control stock levels of shop floor consumables.
- To monitor and analyse the reasons for loss of yields or over consumption in the production processes and to recommend or initiate corrective actions.
- To ensure and monitor that the correct handover procedures are completed (Paint & Slitting Line).
- To coordinate the delivery of on-the-job training across all shifts in accordance with annual training plans.
- To provide cover for the Team Leaders during periods of annual leave, absence and training. Shifts to be covered as and when needed.
- To deal with shift Personnel issues relating to shop floor operatives in conjunction with the Production Manager and HR as required, for example pay queries, return to work interviews and appropriate file notes.
