Condition Monitoring Engineer

Condition Monitoring Engineer (Rel19) Shropshire, England

Salary: GBP38000 - GBP42000 per annum

An excellent opportunity for a Condition Monitoring Engineer to support the Maintenance Department, the purpose of this role is to provide engineering support that ensures asset reliability through the application of condition monitoring practices across site. The incumbent is expected to set-up and implement a Condition Based Monitoring (CBS) plan from start to finish by utilising relevant technology and provide guidance/training to staff where applicable. 

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all conditioning monitoring related activities across site
  • Maintain close contact with suppliers and contractors and keep up with the development of new products/services as well as technical/technological advancements in condition monitoring, asset management & reliability
  • Review, investigate and trial new techniques and technologies as well as ways and methods related to improving asset reliability
  • Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System
  • In support of the engineering function you will develop, document and maintain policies, procedures as well as associated guidelines related to condition monitoring and asset management of equipment within the Engineering function as appropriate

Champion the Technology and Innovation (T&I) initiative, develop, document and monitor project process

 

Essential to the role

BEng in Mechanical Engineering

3-5 year of engineering experience in a similar position, field or industry

  • Being a Member or Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) or an equivalent Professional Body
  • Working knowledge of relevant condition monitoring principles and asset management practices demonstrated in a relevant industry in engineering and maintenance or reliability fields
  • Good working knowledge of engineering procedures and systems to fulfil the Condition Monitoring Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ability to accurately compile, interpret and make use of data and other information to prevent and/or assess potential engineering problems
  • Knowledgeable in the area of equipment lubricants and lubrication techniques
  • Basic understanding of Asset Management BS ISO 55000, 55001 and 55002
  • Computer proficiency including but not limited to MS Office software
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read and understand technical writing and specifications
  • Experience in working with Computer Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical information
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Working knowledge of CAD package(s)
  • Ability to present technical findings in clear, objective, written report form
