Castle Engineering are recruiting for an experienced Electrically biased maintenance engineer who is multi-skilled to join a fast moving packaging business. The successful engineer will ideally be multi-skilled, have worked within a manufacturing sector before and be time served. Ideally looking for someone happy to take on some supervisory responsibilities with the engineering team, however, this isn't essential if you prefer to stay in a purely hands on role.

Your responsibilities within the Maintenance team will be:
- To attend machinery breakdowns and diagnose both electrical and mechanical faults.
- You will tasked with the speedy repair of a variety of packaging machines updating production on your progress.
- You will carry out planned maintenance activities as well as work on machinery upgrades and installations.
- You will be engaged on several CI projects across the factory including machinery moves and installations.
- Assisting the Production team where possible
- Following set procedures and guidelines with respect to food safety, hygiene, health & safety etc
- Have experience of flow wrappers, baggers and conveyors
The role is working on a 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday in their quiet period. In their peak season which is July-Dec the shift will move to a 3 rotation shift adding in a 10pm-6am and there will be a requirement to work 1 in 3 weeks (overtime will be paid for any additional hours).
The business may consider a senior engineer who is looking for more of a Team Leader level role with additional responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be time served with an electrical qualification - 17th/ 18th edition ideally. You will have worked with a food packaging / production or manufacturing business and be able to work at pace and under pressure. You will be highly motivated and a proactive engineer who is looking for career progression.
