Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer (VC8503) Heckmondwike, England

Working within a fast paced manufacturing environment within the automotive industry. The role is for an electrically biased maintenance engineer working on a 3 shift system (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am) Monday - Friday with occasional overtime when business needs require. Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a timely manner, logging work carried out and documenting the root cause of failures
  • Maintaining a safe working environment following the company procedures
  • Responding to emergency situations, diagnosing faults both electrically and mechanically
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of the planned maintenance system
  • Work effectively with the project teams, getting involved with continuous improvement activities
  • Raising permits to work for contractors on site
  • Work flexibly supporting the Maintenance Team when necessary

Required experience:

  • Strong PLC experience (ideally Siemens or Mitsubishi)
  • An Engineering qualification in electrical/mechanical ideally BTEC / ONC / OND / HND or higher
  • Multi-skilled - able to fault find on both electrical and mechanical across a variety of machines including DC drives, inverter controls, safety control systems, burner controls, gas systems
  • Knowledge and experience of fitting bearings, pulleys, chains, tracks, transport belts and senors

You will be a self-motivated individual who works well as part of a team and can work in a fast paced environment. You will have a proactive approach and have strong interpersonal skills.
