Maintenance Engineer - electrically biased

£25,000-36,000k dependent upon experience

The successful engineer will ideally be multi-skilled, have worked within packaging or manufacturing sectors  and be time served. Our client is a leading packaging specialist and can offer excellent training and development and career progression.

Your responsibilities within the Maintenance team will be:

• To attend machinery breakdowns and diagnose both electrical and mechanical faults.
• You will tasked with the speedy repair of a variety of packaging machines updating production on your progress.
• You will carry out planned maintenance activities as well as work on machinery upgrades and installations.
• You will be engaged on several CI projects across the factory including machinery moves and installations.
• Assisting the Production team where possible
• Following set procedures and guidelines with respect to food safety, hygiene, health & safety etc
• Have experience of flow wrappers, baggers and conveyors

The role is working on a 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday in their quiet period. In their peak season which is July-Dec the shift may include 3 rotation shift adding in a 10pm-6am - this is dependent upon business needs. 

The successful candidate will be recently qualified or an experienced maintenance engineer with an electrical qualification - 17^th/ 18^th edition ideally. You will have worked with a food packaging / production or FMCG business and be able to work at pace and under pressure. You will be highly motivated and a proactive engineer who is naturally inquisitive and likes to get involved in improving the way things are done.
