One of our key clients in WA is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Mine Operations Superintendent to their class-leading and world-renowned Kalgoorlie-based operations.
In this key role, you will manage and provide leadership to the Open Pit Mining Team to ensure that all mine plans and strategic business objectives are executed in a coordinated, cost effective and timely manner.
The Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction
- Develop performance improvement strategies for the mine
- Ensure the weekly plan is executed in a sound manner
- Identify risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis
- Monitor the drill and blast team’s performance
- Ensure stocks are maintained in order to meet weekly and monthly mining targets
- Ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation is effective and in place
The Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering or Geology
- Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate (essential)
- Proven Superintendent experience in an open pit mining operation
- Drill and blast experience
- Supervisory / leadership experience, including the mentoring and performance management of team members
- Sound knowledge of the Mining Act (WA) 1978
- Strong budget and cost control knowledge
- WA "C" Class Drivers Licence
