We currently have a vacancy for a qualified Civil Environmental Engineer to join a New Zealand-owned consulting company providing specialist engineering, scientific and planning services in the environmental field.

The company has 4 offices nationally and have undertaken projects throughout New Zealand, in Australia and the Pacific Islands.

They have worked with a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors, including central and local government agencies, international and home-grown companies, other consultants, and members of the public.

Their specialised range of services is focused towards natural and physical environmental issues. They apply engineering, science and planning to find sound solutions for your environmental issues.

They have worked on a wide range of projects that include installing groundwater wells for mining projects, remediating contaminated land at timber mills, resource consent applications for stormwater management and design and construction management of wastewater treatment systems.

Role information:

The role will include the design of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines and land disposal systems for industrial and municipal water or wastewater. You will be involved in civil works design as well as supervision of investigations and construction of works.

Management of construction contracts including tender preparation, contractor evaluation budget management, invoice reconciliation and works certification. Managing projects by co-ordinating subcontractors and liaising with regulators and client contacts

Ideal candidate:

• Bachelors in Engineering
• Superior design skills using relevant software
• 3-6 years of New Zealand work experience
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Relevant experience In writing reports on technical work
