Technical Consultant Storage (3158) Butler, Ohio

Summary

Works with Logicalis Account Executives to consult with clients and understand their IT vision and strategic initiatives. Combines sales ability and consultative skills with technical expertise to design complex storage, data and business continuity solutions based on multiple storage technologies in data center for mid-sized companies to large enterprises.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consults with client to define need or problem, conducts studies and surveys to obtain and analyze data, discusses possible solutions and makes technical recommendations with supporting documentation.

  • Understands and identifies client opportunities and maps those requirements to Logicalis solutions.

  • Provides exemplary pre-sales support to sales team focusing on territory and enterprise accounts.

  • Communicates technical aspects of product and service offerings to customers and prospects.

  • Ensures successful customer proof-of-concepts (POCs) and demonstrations.

  • Leads technical discussions using white boarding techniques and Microsoft Power Point.

  • Provides technical advice to Account Executives to resolve product or service requests regarding technical issues.

  • Coordinates sales and marketing activities with Account Executives in Logicalis accounts.

  • Creates awareness of uncovered opportunities outside of Account Executive’s particular specialty.

  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.

  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.

    Education and/or Experience

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Management Disciplines or related field.
Experience:

5 years in IT marketplace with pre-sales experience in:

  • Enterprise, Midrange and Commercial grade storage solutions including data protection from industry leading storage vendors (EMC, HP, IBM, NetApp or Symantec).
  • Storage Area Networks (iSCSI, Fiber Channel, FCOE, or Network-attached Storage (NAS)).
  • Business Continuity/High Availability.
  • Combining products and services into technology solutions that meet customer’s business needs.
  • Enterprise Server, x86 Server and/or Virtualization Solutions.
  • Operating Systems proficiency: Unix, Windows and Linux.
  • Proven ability to conduct Proof of Concepts and hands-on demonstrations of technology.

  • Proficiency in maintaining technology expertise and currency.

  • Consulting and solution implementation experience in enterprise environments is a plus.

    May consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer Skills

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Advanced level storage technical certification(s) in pre-sales or implementation from industry leading storage vendors (EMC, HP, IBM, NetApp or Symantec).

  • Other related certifications (VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP), Microsoft, networking) desirable.

    Other Skills and Abilities

  • Outstanding oral, written, and technical/business communication skills.

  • Strong technical and customer interaction skills required.

  • Must be able to multi-task and accommodate requests from multiple customers and Logicalis Account Executives.

  • Ability to have business level conversation with customers and assist them in deploying solutions to meet business requirements.
