HSE Manager (RL5443) North Yorkshire, England
Castle are currently recruiting on behalf of leading FMCG company based in North Yorkshire for an experienced Health Safety & Environmental Manager.
As the HSE Manager you will report to the site General Manager and will be responsible for implementing, co-ordinating and managing health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to agreed company standards in a fast paced environment.
You will manage site compliance with the applicable statutory regulations and requirements, providing guidance, advice and inductions. The successful candidate will provide information, guidance and support to line management enabling them to meet their duties and responsibilities as laid out in the group health & safety policy.
You will carry out regular and comprehensive risk assessments and maintain records to ensure management have access to relevant information as well as assist in creating, reviewing and monitoring safe working procedures.
Advise senior management on legal compliance and lead safety committee meetings and workforce engagement
You will identify and create plans for the improvement of HSE and on-going continuous improvement practices as well as complete annual safety reports and plans for forthcoming years.
As the HSE Manager you will carry out monthly defined site inspections and conduct daily site walks engaging with management and workforce. You will also lead internal and external HSE audits.
As part of your role you will upkeep the management system ISO 14001 and take responsibility for environment agency returns
The successful candidate must have previous experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing environment. You will have a positive attitude, track record of maintaining and developing a safe working environment and the relevant H&S qualifications.
