Quality, Health & Safety Manager (VC3779) Driffield, England

Castle are looking for a Quality, Health & Safety Manager for an established Engineering business based in the Driffield area. The key function of the Quality, Health & Safety Manager role is setting and implementing the standards for quality as well as health and safety across the business. 

 

The responsibilities for the role are:

  • Promote and increase awareness of the quality system and procedures throughout the company.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues
  • Calibration of inspection, measuring and test equipment in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure the manufacturing and production process meets the relevant standards.
  • Oversee test procedures.
  • Inspect finished goods against customer supplied specifications/drawings
  • Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
  • Ensure customers’ requirements are met, and dealing with any returns or complaints effectively.
  • Record and maintain inspection and test records.
  • Look to increase manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste

The client is looking for the following skills/experience:

  • Previous experience within a Quality/Health & Safety role, ideally within an Engineering environment
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Have the capacity to read technical drawings
  • Strong communication both internally and externally, across all levels
  • Understanding of LEAN/SixSigma/5S principles and/or a NEBOSH/IOSH qualification would be a distinct advantage

The Benefits:

  • The salary for the position is £20,000-£25,000, depending on experience
  • The role is based in Driffield, so is easily commutable from Scarborough, Malton, York, Pocklington Bridlington, Driffield, Beverley, Hull and Market Weighton
