The Role:
Castle are looking for an Agronomist to join an exciting, revolutionary project based in the Scarborough area. The Agronomist will support and be a part of the client's global Agronomy programme. The Agronomy team contains Scientists that work on a global scale to give commercial, technical and agronomic validity to the project. The role of Agronomist will involve:
- Manage the demands of experimental designs with site limitations and structure trials for commercial or scientific purposes
- Deliver technical support to company’s commercial team
- Monitor trial performance and schedules
- Undertake research related to certain crop groups and geographical areas within the client’s programme of global agronomy.
- Work on the development of crop study programmes
- Provide statistical analysis of results and produce written and verbal reports including trial abstracts and scientific data summaries
The Candidate:
The client is looking for the following skills/experience:
- Have the capacity to interpret, analyse and summarise scientific data and information
- A strong understanding and experience with crop nutrition and crop husbandry (GAP)
- Knowledge of global crop production systems. Practical experience with tea, sugarcane, tree fruit and oil palm would be an advantage
- Working knowledge of statistics, trial experimental design, global data management and testing protocols including recommended application rates
- Post graduate degree in an agronomic science with experience in the field would be highly advantageous
- Experience with either GenStat, SAS, ARM, SPSS or JMP would be preferred
The Benefits:
The client is offering a salary of up to £80,000, alongside a generous relocation package
